Jhandi

Jhandi

Basically a small village Jhandi is a recent inclusion in tourism map of West Bengal for its magnificent view of Greater Himalayan snow ranges over the entire horizon It is a quite and serene hill top near Lava. Viewing sunrise over the snow peaks is perhaps the most treasured memory of being at Jhandi. In a clear day all major peaks of Kanchenjunga can be seen. Even the glorious Mt Everest can be seen as your eyes sweep across the layers of mountains and valleys and reach at the distant corner, where the highest peak in the world is touched by the first rays of the Sun.

What to see:

Sunrise Point and Sunset Point, Lava, Loleygaon, Rishyap, Kolkaham can be easily reached from here.

Nearest railway station is New Mal Junction. One can hire a car to Jhandi.
